Flowering Dogwood, Cornus florida, is one of the most widespread and beautiful spring trees in the Eastern and Southern US. My favorite view of dogwood is from underneath the branches when the sun backlights the blossoms. This one is in the cemetary at Valley Forge National Historical Park, Pennsylvania.
